tbf i haven't even listened to a second of this album

This album isn't bad, just horribly inconsistent. It's so uneven, and has way too many dull moments. Such a step down from Burials.

I enjoyed this, but I agree, it is completely all over the place, one second there's a ballad song and then you're being thrown into a dancy pop rock tune, not that diversity is a bad thing but from an album perspective this flows poorly and ideas just seem to be coming out of left field at times without any cohesion.

Davey sounds so bored on this. Pink Eyes is great but besides that I think its pretty bad. I have not listened to Crash Love and am listening to Burials now which seems to have more life than this. They will never top STS or Art of Drowing

Someone mentioned this on AFIs Facebook page about the first half kind of blending together. After I thought about it I realized the same thing. A lot of the songs on the first half have a similar tempo and sound and they all blend into each other.



I'm having a lot of trouble getting into this album :/ Nothing stuck out to me. So far the only song that's been stuck in my head is freaking "Snow Cats" and I heard that ages ago.

Man I really hate Snow Cats' verses

White Offerings is pretty catchy tho

Snow Cats is one of the best songs on here imo. White Offerings is good, but it feels like a Burials b-side.

This has been getting pretty good reviews. Just read a Drowned in Sound one calling it the first good pop album of 2017.

It's piqued my interest now, I'm going to check this out and see why it's driving opinions.

I feel AFI might have fallen into the like one, dislike one pattern. Disliked Crash Love, really liked Burials, dislike this one. So here's to the next one I suppose!
