k but you have this one 2.5'd so maybe go on an isolated retreat or something before giving further opinions

I kind of like most songs on themselves but strung together like on the album all the life gets sucked out of them. It's at the same time too monotonous and not cohesive at all. There's no general identity and it doesn't build or go anywhere.

"Also I will.never in a million year be able to tell the difference between the last four song on AMSP unless I listen long enough for thom to literally say the name of the song in the lyrics if that even happens" exactly this.

lmao accurate content. think that happens relatively early on Present Tense, which is probs why it's my fave of the bunch

Hey Trifolium I agree w/ you if you're talking Moon-shaped Pool (which I imagine you are.)
Never before have I been so determined to not listen to an album as it's presented to me; i guess the alphabetical thing just seemed like such a gimmick I immediately thought the thing wasn't actually meant to be listened in that order, but instead taken as just a fresh collection of songs that they may have cynically assumed were just going to be dispersed into playlists & whatnot anyway. You could argue the album whose page we're on is kind of playlist-y as well, but at least it works as a full listen

JohnnyoftheWell I don't know what that means but basically in these trying times I'm saying take an even further step of isolation so you may see the brilliant glean of HTTT that the rest of us here on this page do, godspeed

Exactly Log! That's a very plausible explanation for this weirdness. And us having rated HTTT very highly only further proves our point that something is very off with AMSP, because this album also has its sequencing hiccups.

I really don't get all the Burn The Witch hate. It's fine. Nothing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned. That being said it doesn't fit on the album at all.
|
| |
burn the witch is most definitely trash-tier radiohead, but yeah it's so unrepresentative of the album that it doesn't make much sense to take it a point of overarching criticism
