I think that sort of sound is kinda fading as people and the bands themselves age. I think metalcore is having a small, private revolution that's gaining some steam as well, so the appeal for that kind of mainstream music has sort of subsided while some people hit up the new prog-infused acts.

yeah definitely agree man, a lot of the bands at warped still playing the same sound from 6 years ago. Definitely still some good acts around but its a shame they get lumped in the same scene

It's a strange mix, yeah. There are always 2-4 bands I know I'd enjoy, but I can't spend all that money for a festival just for that. If I go to an event of that size I want to have a lot more options.
