Easily my favorite band. Considering getting the hot air balloon and

anchor tattoo as a testament to how much a part of my identity they've

become. I'm normally completely against band-related tattoos but I can

pretty safely say I'll be listening to these records my entire life.

It's in the booklet for Moon and Antarctica and Isaac has something similar on his right arm

Guess I'm trying to say it wasn't because of that album

Tommygun.. if you still haven't jumped in yet, i would work backwards but maybe start with Lonesome Crowded West. I think that was the pinnacle. Listen to that, then Moon, then this. Don't forget Building nothing

LCW is definitely their pinnacle but I think it's very important to hear how the band evolved over the course of those few years.

Sad sappy sucker and The fruit that ate itself are also good releases from those early years

SSS is basically short little cuts of ideas for songs that are recorded pretty haphazardly but

definitely interesting... the early Isaac brock mind. Fruit is kinda like an EP with some standout

songs

isn't SSS just Isaac playing by himself? While that would sound pretty decent, I mostly listen to MM for the whole jam band aesthetic.

Nope it's the trio... otherwise it probably wouldn't be credited as Modest Mouse. It's just a lot less fleshed out than their studio albums. I find it pretty entertaining though... maybe i'm just weird though. lol
