I love how the album ends with the sound of a bottle falling over, which supposedly origins from their last gig in Dublin before Jhonn’s death. It always drags me back to reality, reminding me that this band actually happened, there was a time in history when they actually played Going Up, people were there, and the World was different.

Maybe it’ll help if you also explore Backwards and The New Backwards. Some songs are featured on these releases in different versions, in different flavors. Just listen to Heaven’s Blade from Backwards, it compliments the version on Ape… perfectly.

I listened to this again today and (maybe) agree with Ice. The starting run is the strongest by far (fantastic even) and the closing segment is also decent. Unfortunately parts of the middle (especially like the noisier parts) detract from the ambience and overall experience somewhat
