Deftones and Thrice's most recent albums kinda soured this year for me but Norma Jean and ETID have had the decency to exceed my expectations.

Now I just need Dillinger's last album to not suck.

i love gore and polar similar. And fires within fires rules (aka cumshots within cumshots) 2016 is amazing.

every NJ album Im half worried that I'll all of a sudden realize that they've actually sucked all along and then somehow their last three albums have all been their best yet

Glad Sput seems to be enjoying this so much, but I dont really get much from this. The interludes add very little to the record for me, the vox are good but nothing spectacular for the genre, and the same can be said with the bulk of the instrumentation.

i love how this combines both 00s and 10s metalcore elements, that's pretty fucking cool

I'm honestly not sure what the difference between 00s and 10s metalcore is.

old metalcore is more dissonant and aggressive newer metalcore is more focused on melodies and choruses

Old metalcore is good and new metalcore is bad except sometimes

new metalcore is bad if we're speaking in the realms of mainstream metalcore

There are a couple bands that are pulling off the new core sound quite well, but goddamn you reaaaally gotta look hard for em.

cory's lyrics aren't too hot here which keeps me from loving a few tracks like reaction and the closer but when it's hot it's HOT

death is a living partner is insane, definitely top tier up with synthetic sun and a thousand years. only thing that annoys me is those bland lyrics
