maaan I like catchy Talking Heads but I wish they got weirder more often, Animals and Drugs are such cool songs

I may as well bump this back up. Still the weakest of their first 4 to me.
3.5 → 4.0

always thought this one was a huge step up from their first two

A-side is great. B-side I cannot bring myself to give a shit about. Nothing bad on this though.

Album basically ends after Air for me.
I'm no longer shocked that people like this more than More songs, but I heavily judge you all for it make no mistake.

What about Heaven?

Pretty much every song on here other than maybe Paper is classic
Judge me but it’s prob tiger 2nd best album

I love Paper. Weakest for me is Electric Guitar

Relative to the rest of their output, and even on this album, Heaven is closer to the bottom than the top. I'd take anything off 77, more songs, and remain in light (goes without saying) before it.
But if any other band released it, it'd be their best song.
And Electric guitar is probably their weakest pre-Speaking in Tongues song to me. Not even a bad song, it's just a crazy grading curve we're dealing with here.

Yeah, Electric Guitar would be one of the first tracks I'd cut from this (and Heaven one of the last, don't think there's a single 77 song outside of the final two that I'd favour above it)
Animals is the real underrated gem here

Damn, electic guitar is an album highlight for me tbh

Let's not get too negative though, this still has jams. This 4.0 isn't for pity.
Main reason I bumped this was the opener, Mind, Cities and Life During Wartime. I always preferred the live version of the latter, but this version's still great.

Around the time this album was released, I saw Talking Heads play a small bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was a great, intimate show. I really loved the band at the time. After the show, I checked out the merch table. They had t-shirts with a small Talking Heads logo on the upper-left front side of the shirt. I asked the guys manning the table what I thought was a reasonable question, particularly given the exorbitant price of the shirts: "Is there anything on the back?" And they proceeded to ridicule me mercilessly. "Like what a giant skull?" "Or, or, a naked chick riding huge boner?" And they continued on like that between each other, laughing uproariously, even as I wandered away. That experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth

One of only ten albums I'd award a full 100% score to.
EDIT: oh, thought this was the 'Remain in Light' thread :3
This might be the 'closest to getting a 5 bump' album I have on a 4.5.
