"Handcuffs" is excellent but it's probably their weakest closer.
Says something about "Soco Amaretto Lime," "Play Crack the Sky" and "Noro" then.

"they've released 3 of the demos as studio versions today"
woah. thanks

At this rate they might as well just make the new album all re-worked demos
They seem so fixated on the FOYD tracks lately

Also the original version of Missing You is better than the re-recording
Although the new version of Brothers is pretty dope

yeah handcuffs is fantastic, still the weakest closer though, which is pretty much why i posed the question initially lol

I was thinking the same. I wouldn't doubt if the new album is just all reworked demos. New Brother's Song is better, new Missing You is not better, new 1996 is about equal to original, imo.

Handcuffs rips. Love the "you could try and be waaaaaay off" part at the end, perfect. That album is fucking perfect.

Gotta go listen to it now just thinking about it
I'm thinking of getting a vinyl player just to hear that album at an even higher quality

i'll be honest I like the new version of Missing You better. actually Brothers is the one song I'm not so sure about yet. I love the drum additions but idk about that extra guitar.
either way they're all awesome and because i'm such a brand new slappy, i'll undoubtedly purchase these songs for the third time.

Annoying that you have to buy the whole thing for 5.99 instead of just the tracks

Gonna wait for it to be on Sophiesfloorboard

I think I prefer the original Brother's Song, but the other two songs are nice. Always loved the riffs in 1996, glad the rework kept those intact.

tbh my favorite thing about the new missing you is the improved first verse. also the new bridge is sweet and the outro is way more polished. love it.

Giving it a few more listens, Missing You is pretty close to the original, but I think I still like the original better. It almost seems a little too polished at times and loses its charm a little.

I don't like how it seems to build then suddenly the background instrumentals drop in volume

Some of these new re-works will make fine additions to my imaginary Brand New LP though, consisting of FOYD, Mene, I Am A Nightmare, and Out of Range
|
| |
I mean seriously they could have a solid LP on their hands:
Good Man
1996
I am a Nightmare
Brothers
Missing You
Mene
Sealed to Me
Nobody Moves
Battalions
Out of Range
(Fork & Knife)

Downloaded Sealed to Me, I am a Nightmare, and Out of Range since those were the only ones I had missing, and just made an album with that track listing. It'll do nicely until they finally drop the real album #5.

I'm gonna hold off on that for now just in case those songs actually end up being the majority of what's on album 5
I doubt it, but at this point, who knows
