I'm on Lower Empire now and I'm loving it....but I don't think it's 5 worthy after all. It leans a little too far towards the common tropes of generic metalcore if I'm being honest. More clean singing than we've heard from this band so it kinds gives each song a similar feel whilst on this one each song had a unique identity.

Yeah, the cleans on this were used to great effect. The traditional choruses were used sparingly and always took the song to the next level. And then there are tracks like First Father and Dying in Circles that place the cleans at just the right moment and in a way you don't expect. I can't say the same for the new one. It's definitely the most formulaic record they've done so far.

need to check out their debut and obviously their upcoming one
