I mean it's def more guitar driven, this riffs hard as fuck. But yeah the synths aren't cut out at all.

They aren't cut out, but they're definitely cut down.

I can say I am happy with that. I like the original a lot but this has a nice extra bit of bite imo.

Been waiting for a remaster since I first read about the drumming issues back in 1998 or 99. I guess it's never too late haha.

Indeed, getting just a bit impatient. I want it before I lose my hearing.

The original production has always annoyed me greatly, because the music is fantastic.

I don't know about this one... It has a weird 3d-ishness in the layering that is not completely my cup of tea. Still nice to hear it in another light though!

Dani has said Funeral in Carpathia is one of his favorite CoF songs and one of his best songs.

Difficult to pick, as there are many great ones, but that one is very cool indeed.

Apparently Dani was extremely upset at how Cruelty came out as far as the production. Him and the chick who were in the band at the time (Can't remember her name) said that they were both literally in tears about how 'ruined' it sounded. Apparently they had put a lot of work into the production and it was somehow ruined in their opinion. Curious to hear that new remaster if it happens. Since it's a long time coming. They were talking about this years and years ago.

I remember that story. It was Sarah Jezebel Deva who also did vocals on Nexus Polaris and Therion's Vovin, two of the best '90s albums. 1998 was a really busy year for her.

I feel like that album should have sounded huge, but instead sounds paper thin. I'm hoping the remaster does it justice

Didn't even know Cruelty and the Beast is coming out with a remaster. Should be sick.

Dani sounds really inspired and emotionally intense on that album. Especially the 'chorus' part of Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids, the ''And to her dead reflection twas as if her pallor gleamed...'' part. One of my favorite moments of this band.

I agree though it sounded paper thin. I'd be really curious to hear how Dani and the band wanted it to sound. I imagine they didn't like how muddy it sounded.

Completely agree, Spirit, I think that thin and almost foggy sound fits the theme and feeling of the record perfectly. Not too stoked about the remaster, but still nice to hear it in a new way
