i put this on in the car and my girlfriend said "are you listening to kings of leon?"

fans here are a little bit blinded by their fandom perhaps. an impartial party is not wrong in saying this sounds like kings of leon.

it does carry quite a few tropes common in the "holy hell grunge died over a decade ago let it go" style of radio rock but it does have a very, very minor edge in melody that makes it just barely passable.

death from above sounds like none of these bands, nor does black honey, nor the window, nor salt and shadow. the only two songs ill concede are wake up and stay with me sound sorta like audiosalve and maybe anberlin.

vocal limiters on Dustin are very similar to a lot of post grunge bands who were on the in trend of that

It's up there as their best with Vheissu, Ambulance, Air, and Water for sure.

The Long Defeat into Seneca is such a masterful album centerpiece, very refreshing to hear some atmospheric stuff after a run of more straightforward sounding rock songs.

Whistleblower has been growing on me a lot. The bridge is fantastic, and I'm really digging the almost-shouting that Dustin's doing on the verses.

That and Hurricane are really great songs, especially with how energetic they are and the power of his voice. Awesome avi too dude hahaha love that episode

idk man if you aren't into Dustin's vocals at this point I think it's a matter of personal preference that's probably not gonna change
