I just ninja edited that, since I actually thought it was the normal closer haha, that is mind boggling why that didn't make the normal cut.

Chorus in Sore Distress is so dreamy as well

So much better than any of the non-Anthony Saosin and as much as I love early Circa their later and especially middle career stuff is a lot more middling/hit or miss for me, so I'm not nearly as bummed about Circa disbanding as I am wishing they would make another fucking record with this lineup.
Maybe it's because i hadn't been into any AG shit for a while when this dropped and my expectations were low but man it rly blow my nips off when it dropped and I still get quite a bit out of it.
And ye the 'bonus tracks' should absolutely not be bonus damn.

I think the total opposite. Self-titled is their best full length. This isn't bad, but it is a bottom-tier Anthony release in general. Cove was better in writing memorable choruses and melodies, at least when it came to this band.
Also, mixing is a bit flat imo and it doesn't help Beau kicked out Justin just prior the recording of this album.

Saw Saosin is playing a couple festivals, I assume with Green and not Cove?

as long as it's better than in search of solid poop, I'll be happy

yeah hopefully. not into any of coves non sao projects sans a few songs here and there but maybe he just needs beau to write everything for him

Cove's got a great voice that just happened to be outshined by Green's better one.
As always, I just hope Anthony is doing alright

his voice suffered m a a a a a j o r l y from his smoking habit as well. he was good when he joined the band and howard benson got a killer performance out of him on s/t but by isosg he fully unraveled. every live clip of him around that time is atrocious and honestly some of the worst ive ever heard
still don't really think he's as good as he was when he first joined sao atm but he's recognizably improved a lot since 2010

I'm always that guy where I can't get into an album and I can't put my finger exactly why, but then I re-arrange the tracklist and the songs start growing on me out of nowhere. I think this is the best way to get into this album:
1. The Silver String
2. Racing Towards a Red Light
3. Second Guesses
4. Count Back from TEN
5. Ideology is Theft
6. The Stutter Says a Lot
7. Illusion and Control
8. Sore Distress
9. Old Friends
10. The Secret Meaning of Freedom
11. Control and the Urge to Pray
And of course both b-sides rule and should've been included in the standard release. I'll bump my rating.

I have no faith they will release a good album with Justin out of the band. It’s obvious he wrote all the sick riffs

And why the fuck are they re recording the self titled. That album sounds great. Must be for ownership of the masters or something
