"can people stop namedropping faceless as a sonic reference point because the faceless is such a rip of so many other bands"
so you'd rather we namedrop every band faceless ripped off instead of just saying the faceless cause it sounds like the faceless? that just seems like a waste of time
not that it really matters cause this is leagues better than the faceless

Liking this so far, they break up the technical craziness just enough to make it not overbearing.

This album is just freaking crazy in all the best ways. Reminds me of Unhuman.

This album definitely beats Faceless, but Planetaryou Duality is still pretty nice.

"Das Dasein is a german word btw, meaning to exist / be in time and place. It can be attributed to something or someone. Kind of hard to explain for me, even in German, because it goes beyond the meaning of 'to be'."
Pretty interesting that you've brought that up. Tbh as an English speaker learning German, the way I see it is just a combination of Da (there) and sein (to be). so, 'to be there', to exists with reference to something else.

lol this is good but doesn't even come close to any thing the faceless have done

Those bass lines. Cool album and review.

As an interesting note, the album’s lyrics are entirely in French.

"As an interesting notes, the album’s lyrics are entirely in French."
I was literally just about to ask this.
Couldn't tell because you can't discern a damn thing the vocalist is saying

Apparently you're not supposed to. I forget if their EP was in French or not, but this album is all in it.

not sure if this is awful or I just really hate this kind of metal

I don't think this is close to awful, but techdeath can be pretty divisive. This just might not be your particular flavor of metal, which is totally understandable.

Awesome band, gave this a listen of the strength of your review. First couple of listens and I'm loving it, feels so fresh.

Thanks for stopping by!
The production on this definitely makes everything sound so smooth and new. It's a sort of cleanliness that really works in this case.

the vocals aren't that good particularly the highs but I don't imagine they take that part that seriously as the first song we can here the vocalist spit at the end of the song lol
I haven't made it all the way through this yet. These guys can wank pretty hard. After 5 or so tracks there were only several riffs that felt memorable. alot of it is fluttery wank. no recurring cadences or motifs. no songwriting really. but the biggest or really only offense to me is lack of riff memorability. the solos are good. the instrumental track somewhere in the middle of the album was a fine track save for the intro.

"the biggest or really only offense to me is lack of riff memorability"
that's honestly how i feel about most of the genre these days
well that and a lot of them overproduce the shit out of their drums

Yeah, that's what makes Leading Vision possibly my favorite release of its kind. Such riffs. Much memories.
