I dunno if Radiohead would release something that they didn't fully back. I don't think it's them going through the motions so much as adopting thoughtful minimalism.

Except it doesn't seem to be meeting the experimentation quota for a bunch of people. I would describe the production as sparse for the most part, too

I don't know if I'd label this as experimental, and definitely not minimalism. It's pretty heavy on psychedelic indie and folk for sure.

Yeah not being upbeat or experimental doesn't make something minimalist.

I don't think the track order will shuffle at all - and I hope it doesn't. A lot of these songs bleed into each other so that would be an odd move on their part (after the odd ABC move in the first place)

Tbh my brain still hasn't really processed that I'm listening to a new Radiohead album.

It's minimalist in a relative sense, not as a specific tag

lol @theBoneyKing...same here man. Always happens with my favorite artists, especially the more cryptic ones

Through my first listen, I have to say I'm impressed, but I am an early member of wishing the tempo/mood changed a bit more frequently. Radiohead isn't one to really make cohesive mood albums like this, or at least not in a long time (i.e. 15 Step & Bodysnatchers sounding like nothing else to follow, Amnesiac's sloppy but awesome tracklisting, King of Limbs two seeming halves)

this is one of their least experimental albums, it's really just ambient pop/rock with the strings adding some artiness to the music, but that's pretty much it.

Daydreaming, Ful Stop and True Love Waits fully contradict that statement.

It's about time I started my review on this... I have really strong feelings on this album and a possibly unique perspective.
