As well as mine with SNW, but yes, this is growing so far. Still not impressed with Chino here but I love the emphasis on atmosphere this time around.

I love it, tbh. It grew on me quickly. I gave it a break for a few days and stopped thinking about what I had initially heard on the first couple of playthroughs. Then on release day I purchased it and now I love it even more. The highier quality of sound obviously improved my enjoying this record. The emphasis on atmosphere really sticks out and I love it. Solid 4.7 for me.

Hardest part of listening to this for me is trying not to compare it to KNY and Diamonds Eyes (since both of those were 5s for me), and not putting almost unreachable expectations on every track on the first listens.

I really don't get how peeps like this?

Deftones have been my favorite band since Jr. High (I'm 33), and this is the first album I won't be purchasing. Phantom Bride is the only good song here. The rest are horrible! Chino sounds like he's given up. Just add echo to everything!

Nothing here made me even remotely want to listen to it again, besides Phantom Bride, as mentioned before.

This is a sad, sad day in history. I'll probably be inconsolable for a while.

It's called opinions.

Fuck it, I'll bump this. I wish Abe and Chino were as massive in the mix as they were on KNY but the music here goes down so easy compared to their other stuff. I hope they completely go down the road of Phantom Bride and LMIRL in the future.

Love the chorus on Geometric, this is indeed a big grower much like KNY.

Yea KNY is one of my favorites now and one of my fav Chino performances. Idk if Chino will grow here but the music certainly is!

I mean Chino does sound pretty tired on here at times AND this is the furthest he's been pushed back in the mix ever.

Coincidence? I think not.

Yea he doesn't sound as powerful and commanding unfortunately. Stephen really shines on this one though.

Huh maybe my ears are broken I dunno, he's a polarising vocalist for sure. The amount of friend I have who say 'I love Deftones music but the singer puts me off big time'.

Still regardless, I'm enjoying this.

Kind of interesting how they decided to push back Chino and Abe and make Steph the most dominate sound of this album.

Yeah the way Hologram transitions into the main riff is gold.

Oh damn I didn't realize Jerry Cantrell guess played in Phantom Bride.

Yea it's both refreshing and polarizing to hear Chino pushed back. He's usually my favorite singer and he sounds a bit weaker both vocally and mix wise. But it's cool to hear everything blend together in their sound here.
