This band can get pretty cheesy sounding sometimes, but this is definitely one of their albums that stays pretty natural sounding and engaging throughout.

Well yea they can be cheesy, especially on Oblivion Hymns, but most of their songs aren't cringe worthy cheese if they are and some of their songs are the most emotional I've ever heard.

Their first two and this are the best in that regard, Departure Songs would be if they had cut the excess cheese and just made it a digestible length. All still good stuff tho, but yea

I've been listening to "We Could Have Been Beautiful Again" during my morning routine along with the fiancée; really sets a peaceful tone for the day. Blissful, almost.

What sets this apart from other Hammock albums? To me almost all of them are equally good.

Will do... once I've finished intaking this one. At 20 songs, may be a while... also have to wait for the vinyl to come, which'll probably take a couple months.

Don't listen to everyone saying Oblivion Hymns is bad. I don't think it's cheesy, it's just openly sentimental, but it's beautiful musically that it's totally okay
