It's something with the riffs! Maybe in combination with the guitar tone!

I dunno, maybe if Kvelertak's whole families/friends/relatives/pets all died in a horrific accident they might come back and write something like this

That part where he says "the pigs run wild" is so cool
My favorite here is def Final Will, it's a like big meaty pack of all things m/ accompanied by some added poison yet clean production for the added elegance I didn't suspect

I've bumped my rating since, it takes quite a bit of listens to fully appreciate. Probably my favourite of 2016 so far, Ruiner is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.

I'd say it's prog metal/ sludge mostly with some punk influences throughout

At first I missed the old vocals (despite being an asshole), but the new vocals have really grown on me

interesting that you'd like him there but not here (initially)

i'd check out their earlier stuff, just as good. death mask was the album whose creation paralleled the death of their initial lineup

I just preferred the older vocalist for this style of music but going back and forth between Cobalt's albums, there really isn't a significant different imo

Ah, good to know. Will check their old albums, man.

Anyone know where to find lyrics for this aside from Cold Breaker? I have the vinyl and it didn't have any in it, and searches online only bring up Cold Breakers lyrics

Funny this got better after a few listens but then worse after another.

I cant make up my mind with this album, its really good in some parts but not so much in others.

Wish it hit harder as well, it seems to build up to something but never really gets there.
