Goddamn Choccy, how many times do I have to reiterate this for you? I never said anyone had to enjoy this as much as I do. I was just pointing out an obvious bias towards this band. It's the exact same thing with films. There is typically a "general consensus" on whether a movie is good or bad, but there's NOTHING wrong with someone feeling different than the general consensus.

And besides, my "this average is way too low" comment wasn't even meant to be taken seriously, it was just a passing comment. I don't really give a shit about the average.

you can't get the vibe of the whole album outta three songs, that's the thing. you gotta go the whole way or you don't get jack

This is coming to Spotify on the 11th, so I'll give it a fairly objective listen then.

'good pop'
yeaaah, gonna have to disagree here. Too self-indulgent and cringe for that

Define self-indulgent
Some lyrics here and there are cringe-worthy but that's about it

Some good hooks on this thing, but so many of the slower tracks are just so damn boring. That and the lead singer going into pretentious ramblings in every other verse is pretty annoying. The singles plus "She's American" are the best songs here.

Nah.. The slower tracks are the best, imo. It was a nice step out of their comfort zone I think. You have parts here and there reminiscent of their last album but at the same time you see them trying out new things as well. I see it as a step in the right direction and better than their last album where every song carried the same tempo, same lyrics, and same instrumentals. Seriously on their last album I couldn't tell where one song ended and another began.

Meh. I thought that was one of the most annoying mainly because of the guitar

Not sure why they decided to make this so long and put so many boring interludes on this considering that approach really detracted from their first album.
There are some really good songs here though and I wasn't expecting to like it, but I have to admit to enjoying a good portion of the album. Paris, She's American and Change of Heart are especially good. Not really feeling the singles or the closer.

Lost my head and please be naked should not be after each other to long of what feels like an intermission. otherwise awesome.

please be naked into lostmyhead is one of the best parts of the record. neither track feels like an intermission, both are purposeful and beautiful and effective.

Saw these cunts live the other night. Great setlist and the album as a whole has grown on me.

This is such a great album. I didn't think these guys had it in them. I mean, the only good songs off the last one were the singles so I was sure this'd be the same
