This album is wayyyyy to good. I even like the weaker tracks like Garbage. Oh, and Dead Tree is one of the bands best

Garbage is...garbage but I love it. Jesus Christ RnR is the one serious dud here for me.

still true

wish they were doing their north american tour in more than just LA, that vulgar and withering to death show would literally send me into orbit

Hmmm I should probably go see them tomorrow, happen to be in the area

Dead Tree/The Final is such an insane one-two punch

They ruled, they sounded amazing overall and it is just insane that Kyo sounds as good as he does considered the ambition of what it is on the record and how long he's been doing it. A world-class talent.

However, I wish they mixed the setlists for Vulgar/Withering to Death for this final show. It was a mini-tour of 3 shows but this was mostly the same setlist as the first show (mostly songs from Phalaris/Vulgar).

Yeah that would have been a cool idea. It's great that songs like 13 and Oboro show they still got gas in the tank to create classic material despite the production of their studio albums being ass for the foreseeable future.

While the shows were amazing, apparantly this U.S. tour was hurt by poor advertising. In most of their advertising, they never said that these weren't gonna be full on Mode shows (i.e. perform the entire album in one night) like on the EU and Japan tours. This ended up skewing fans expectations of the setlist. I also thought they would be full on Mode shows (see the word mode = full album in my head; if I made that mistake then so many people would) and I would have been a bit peeved because there's many songs which I would have wanted which were not played.

Yeah it seems obvious it should have been billed as "Phalaris + mode of Vulgar/WtD"

How do they produce the sound that opens Merciless Cult? It's so unique and I love it and really adds to the atmosphere of the track
