Has anyone seen them recently? My guess is that the oldest song they'll ever revisit is Wake.

I can't imagine any of this stuff live would be easy to play. Especially Europa, like calling that track colossal is an understatement.

I still think they could do it effectively, why not have disk 2 playing in the background ?

Thats what they did when I saw them in '06, essentially. Armine starts the samples and then the song starts, basically. No doubt they could handle it if they wanted to. They don't want to.

That tour was sick. Rosetta and Battlefields were set up at the same time and would alternate songs, leading into each other. I've never seen another show like it. RIP my fucking ears though. Tinnitus began at that moment.

i'll probably never go to another show without earplugs unless it's some intimate as fuck folk show in a tiny venue or something like that

are the guys in this band intolerable pretentious assnuggets? because they kind of give off that vibe

I have thought that about Matt since I started following them. The pretentious part, anyway, and I get the feeling that he writes everything. All the dudes are disgustingly nice, though. They stayed with my drummer that night. Armine was super humble, seemed uncomfortable when we told him how much those three albums meant to us. BJ is the nicest dude ever, which was surprising because he's a spastic monster behind the kit.

They are the embodiment of DIY, though, and will always do whatever feels right to them.

Its just the whole trying to distance themselves from metal thing that gets me.

yeah and i don't entirely understand what they're trying to pull there since their last album still sounds distinctly like a metal album despite the increase in melody

Right, I know some like it but I find it pretty boring. The songs are same-samey. Starting to get a little shoegazey.

maybe they'll make a shift to playing with only light distortion through dinky vox amps and twinkly clean parts next, who knows.

I guess? But nobody does what Rosetta was doing on 1,2 and 3. Especially 1 and 2. Especially 1.

Really love the energy that builds on some of the tracks. Post-metal seems to lack that in general.
