I just go by whoever did it first honestly, that's why I see David's version as a cover. In the end, it doesn't even matter. Both versions have their quirks which make them unique.

"Although the common belief that Pop wrote the lyrics while Bowie composed the music is generally accurate, their approach occasionally saw the positions change, with some music (such as "Dum Dum Boys") being Pop's and some lyrics (including the first verse to "Sister Midnight") being Bowie's." Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Dani Filth... ALL OF THEM LIVE AND WELL. Do you need more reasons to hate this world and want the WWIII? R.I.P Bowie. And thanks for everything!

Yes, because dying a natural death in old age definitely would make me hate the world because a bunch of people who are relatively young and healthy are still alive. I'm gonna miss David, but dude he wouldn't want someone saying such utter nonsense.

It's always the artists/people with sense that get cancer it seems.

Time to redeem it. No way this isn't towards the top of my 2016 list at the end of the year.

I thought it was good even before Bowie passed, but all the nuances and hidden meanings that came to realization afterwards...

Just, damn.

Completely agree. I had this at a 4 after my first 2 listens. His death just adds that much more depth this record.

Has anyone ever soundtracked their own death the way Bowie has? Genuine question.

The way Bowie has, I don't think there is.
