Just ordered that limited Dark Green vinyl. Can't wait to hear this spinning.

Yeah, this is def a lot like Mastodon used to be. Haven't heard any of Intronaut's other albums, so can't say how it differs.

Maybe I haven't listened to this intently enough, but nothing about it strikes me as particularly new. The occasional weird riff maybe, but otherwise this is pretty much the same old same old.

I haven't listened to these guys since Prehistoricism came out, I wasn't a fan of that but it was a long time ago. This is insanely good, I might need to go back through their catalog.

The post-metal tag throughout their work always was weird to me.

"Devin did not produce the album. He only mixed it. Intronaut produced it and I forget the name of the guy that engineered it, but he's the one you want to look at for why it sounds so perfect."

Cool. The band should keep producing their own stuff then, they really know how to make themselves sound good. Still, if Devin mixed the album then it explains how everything is put together so tight. The volume of each instrument sounds perfect.

Yeah the post-metal elements are still there, but ya definitely more accurate to describe this as prog metal

they always were more prog than post-metal. even back when Intronaut was basically a metalcore band with prog metal elements.

been a fan of this band for a long time. you always heard flashes of brilliance in their albums, but it was never consistently held together. good to see them finally get it done

The point isn't that it's new ground for the band, it's that everything here is refined to the point where they've made their best album in like 7 years
