as far as the melody argument goes, i can totally understand for records like his S/T and Social Disservices, but Collapse, Roads, even Kentucky, and especially this, have tons of melody about them

not to say that it isn't a legitimate reason to not enjoy panopticon, but he is definitely a melodic artist

If this could be compared to any Agalloch album, it'd be either Ashes or Marrow for sure, but this hardly sounds anything like Agalloch.

And nothing he's done has been anywhere close to Agalloch :3

also: how do you know how many people pre-ordered this? Also also: how do you know what his income after expenses is for this album? A label prints his records, not him.

This isn't comparable to Agalloch at all tbh. Actually nothing he's done can be comparable to Agalloch. Completely different sounds.

I think he compared it to Agalloch before it came out, didn't he? :3 Which is why I was expecting more mid-tempo post-rocky folk junk, not atmos bm.

lunn never compared it to agalloch, he only said that that was one of the bands with a sound that he wanted to make a record influenced by, as well as Rapture and someone else

This, Roads, and s/t are all way better than both Soar albums imo even though those both slay as well.
