Yea this was far more DTGL coded than anything else, but with their own spin and flavor on it enough. I do really wish they'd come back lol

The post- leanings here make it so great

yeah the post and sludgy leanings on this are stellar and are why I think of disambiguation, but there is definitely influence from DTGL, LITSOS, and Ø scattered throughout
like steak said though, even though the influences are there, the band takes those influences and makes their own thing on this
in conclusion, please come back Stories

Had these guys waited a few years for Underoath to release their garbage post-reunion albums - maybe they'd have blown up

This still sounds so fresh, we’ve had all the post hardcore revivals in the last few years but they all sounds stale as hell. As much is I like post hc worship id take this over static dress etc

I 1000% agree and while I generally enjoy what static is doing I think they're heavily overblown

Yeah it's impossible to think of static without Jay lol. But for me I listen and enjoy the nostalgia bait but it doesn't resonate at all. I'm just like cool that was fun

I haven't really put much thought into the why exactly, but the new one while really good just isn't sticking with me like the debut. That one was an instant classic
