Yes. Always has been. But it’s even better now

"Sad that the ambient effects are quite low in the mix, that is actually a part of this record I really enjoyed. Mix seems made for a record that is focussed on heaviness where I did not feel like Node was in the first place"
I strongly agree with all of this. Beating the old mix is a very low bar overall but the VIBE taking a backseat is a big fail in my opinion, it's easily the best part of this album. I actually preferred the instrumental version of the original for that reason.

Marcus has always been a mixed bag for me despite his obvious talent, a lot of his chorus melodies have underwhelmed. That being said, he sounds great on the re-record, the screams in particular sound nice and beefy. I wish he could get just a bit lower since I will forever associate this band with Adrian's lows, but still, it's a good performance.

Yeah he’s good at “visceral” but his mid tone is not my favorite

I'll agree that I wish the ambience was more prevalent but everything else just hits so much harder, like the breakdown in Obelisk (absolute gem of a song btw). However, I do think Nameless is a worse interlude track because that was supposed to be all atmosphere, and just doesn't really work now. The only place where I think they dropped the ball completely.
