Unfortunate that the band aren't planning anything in the near future. As lackluster as this was, I'd like to see a follow-up that shows them grow into something interesting.

They're time is passed and they gotta hang up the skates. I'll keep rippin' their early stuff from time to time though

9 albums ain't nothing to sneeze at, and about half of them are bangers

Honestly in their prime they put out some of the best metal ever. Just really high level and memorable.

Yeah, they're probably going down sometime. V, The Odyssey, some tracks from Divine and Twilight are staying with me for a long time, this is a band that got me into progmetal.

What's annoying me is them never really achieving any great recognision. Russel and Romeo got some of it, but former of which is now being laughed at because of extremly cheesy videos made by himself, and second one not staying up on pair with creating good music.

I think that's what has me so disheartened about them likely either taking a hiatus or silently calling it quits, I still feel like they have something left in them, and to go out with an album that feels like they're winding down in an uninteresting way (they've basically been declining in quality since Paradise Lost) just doesn't feel right. It'd be like if Nightwish decided to throw in the towel right now, they've been in a bit of a rut, but you can tell there's still opportunity within them.

Does it sound like a symphony x album pretty much? Or has it got some different and interesting elements?

Haha oh no man, Symphony X is one of my favourite prog metal bands. The last two albums just didn't click as much at first but they've been growing on me quick.

Word. Band really is talented
I used to jam iconoclast in the car all the time. So many bangers there

Love the production on them too. Modern, tight, and punchy.
