Cadillacs is mid, the Flaming Lips one is a bit of a bugger around/bonus track’y

Tetons is the possible hidden gem, very Sparklehorse

One Chance as well. Belter.

Album is a lot better than the really hipster one that gets all the brats in a froth.

Moon and Antarctica? Just the first five tunes are better than any of this but fair enough

This one is really flat for me, real trudge

This is still excellent. Most of the stuff where Brock sounds like a nutcase doesn't really work but ignoring that it's a great poppy indie album. It is on the low side of 4 for me but having a good handful of classics that are more memorable than the annoying stuff is annoying helps.

If I was to write a 10000 word dissertation on why this is better it’d probably get an E but it’d still hold sway.

I appreciate and respect your restraint.

I, for one, have written many an essay on modest mouse, both academically and for recreation.

I do like both those albums a lot, We Were Dead over this is perfectly understandable.

I’ll listen to ‘Strangers’ tonight - might struggle to hold the 3.5

Yeah I can certainly see that with Dead.

I don’t think I’ve managed a complete listen of strangers though. Bloody rubbish.

Might be a case of enjoyably a bit shit ahead of unenjoyably a bit average - if not ‘Strangers’ deserves a doof demotion (uh oh)

‘Pistol’ is their worst ever song though, unreal how bad that one is

It’s placing in the track list suggests the band thought it worked out well...

Tbh I’d almost rather have stuff like “Pistol” than bland stuff like the new single. At least "Pistol" is memorable.

That it is.

Don’t think I’ve heard the new single...
