Listening to this on vinyl is a religious experience, especially with the lyrics and illustrations on the sleeve in front of you

I got tickets for next year's tour, will hopefully finally get to see MJ perform live!

I'm still amazed he's performing again, that Covid throat surgery looked nasty....it feels a bit too good to be true, have a horrible feel that this could still be cancelled as it's a year away.

Chuffed it's at Alexandra Palace and really affordable this time (compared to The Royal Albert Hall last time which I felt priced out of getting two tickets for last time, would have been £300+)

Good morning Sputnik! Album is a friggin masterpiece

EDIT: holy shit Doof I just realized I'd never responded 😓 probably the big one has been Joni Mitchell's Hejira, a near-instant 5 for me, but the new Hoplites and Bathers (😉😉) albums are both blinders. Been indulging in the Sputcore touchstone that is Jane Doe also, and this week I've been getting into the Pogues album with "Fairytale of New York" on it

Nice, I need to check more of The Pogues in light of Shane’s passing

That Bathers album is a stunner

Sweet Bird of Truth, Slow Train To Dawn, and Mercy Beat are easily my favourites here. 3 stellar tracks

Glad you checked this Gyro! It’s difficult recommending it because it’s an album I’ve known since I was 8 years old. I’d definitely add Out of the Blue and Heartland to any list of best songs on this but obviously I just enjoy the whole thing.

Had you listened to ‘Soul Mining’ before this.
