I'm not massive on that one either tbh. Best songs here are: Follow, So Cold, Away and Believe. Ben's lyrics on this album, amongst some odd screaming parts, make the other songs average/bad.

Ordinary Man is def the most underrated, because it's a bonus for Japan but I think it's better than most of the rest. It got later included on the Shallow Bay comp
|
| |
so why do the Japanese get all the bloody bonus tracks? (i'm being a little bit more careful with my wording this time)

They got two actually: Ordinary Man and Lady Bug. Technically it's because music in Japan is expensive and it often arrives late (that's what they say). But I won't deny that I really don't like this, because a lot of times I find the Japanese bonuses to be part of the highlights. Choose them better at least, please. It's a curse

"Away and Believe are most underrated "
[2] tresm knows it.
Ordinary Man is pretty poo, poo.

Nah it has one of the catchiest guitar parts of the album and I find the bass to be very pleasant in the verses.
Away is a great song agreed, can't say the same for Believe though. The harsh vocals are pretty cringy, worst song for me

heard Forget It for the first time in a while and was reminded that these guys are actually capable of writing a really great song when they want to

Forget it is a decent song, but yeah, the repetition is a bit irritating.

yeah but it's still a nice song. I remember when I was a kid I thought he said "Fuck at it". Ahh, the innocence of youth.

wouldn't innocence be if you misinterpreted them the other way around

Ah, yes. I remember my parents were pretty lenient about my music buying. I remember the s/t Gorillaz CD had a parental advisory on it, and my dad kind of made a big sniff about it.
And then the same with Box Car Racer, my mom made a big deal about trying to get an edited version.
I think my parents were pretty over it by that point though, since I'm the youngest of 3.

^ I was pretty much the exact same way when I was listening to music. My older brother was the one who got me into music in the first place but he would be careful when showing me music with swearing in it. It's pretty much the reason why I'm more attached to Christian music than most people. Granted my mother still thinks the most of the stuff I listen to is Satanic but I don't give a shit anymore.

lol sorry but who the fuck listens to music of a certain religious persuasion unironically

I've heard Christian music and enjoyed it without realizing it was even Christian to begin with.
Should learning that it's Christian retroactively affect my enjoyment of it?
|
| |
no so have I but I think you're missing the point (or i am).
I'm merely saying how silly it seems to have an affinity for something as amorphous as music inflected with christianity , idk i'm being a cunt but i'd have thought that by the time your listening/appraising obscure metal the prescence of religious lyrics would be completely irrelevant. Altho i come from a very household of agnostics so i'm probably bein a bit harsh
