i thought the whole point of gkmc was having to grow up in that sort of environment, recounting it with way more complexity and reflection than p. much every other rapper out of compton

This is definitely more "race centered" (?) than gkmc, he talks a lot about black ppl in here but it's mostly relating to his experience growing up and it's just him saying how much he respects it and stuff - Apart from Blacker the berry there is next to no mentioning of any other race of ethnity going on and Kendrick is pretty actively against kneejerk anti-whiteness (Which is a thing that exists - people who think otherwise either think the us is the whole of the universe or are retarded, probably both) to make something of that sort.

Basically this is just about Kendrick reflecting where he is and where he's from in such in terms of his people

Terrific review, I turned nineteen at the beginning of the month and totally relate to the feeling of not being musically conscious during huge, game changing albums. Pos.

I'm so glad that this is the review that made front page. This is the only one that really counts so far in my book.

Decent review, but this review, like this album, is very hyperbolic, narcissistic, and it panders to Kendrick fan boys. You spent all but two paragraphs talking about yourself. in fact this review epitomizes this album 'im not 18 years old yet, I cant vote yet, let me tell you what the nation is oblivious to from my incredibly biased, superficial and uninformed perspective'

Can't believe the hype for this is actually surpassing Good Kid b.A.A.d CD... cant believe this wasn't better than Good Kid b.A.A.d CD

Apparently trying to appeal to your fanbase is a bad thing now

how does this pander, hillary? Are people not allowed to insert personal experiences and how it relates to an album? People do it all the time, and I think two (pretty damn small) paragraphs that talk about his life experiences and how it has to do with this doesn't really hurt the review in general. You do it all the time, but really, you're grasping at some damn tiny straws here.

I did indeed not say that, but it is honestly a bad thing to do that, you should try to push the envelope if you ask me.

gotta admit Blacker The Berry is REALLY good shit, but im not feeling the rest of this really for reasons that should now be apparent.
