Album only available in edited version? Screw that I can wait a week to hear some swearing. Plus, I think the leak has already been pulled off of iTunes now. Cannot see anything listed aside from the explicit cut that still is under a pre-order.

69 ratings so far, 42 have this at a 5.
An explicit version is on Spotify, I've already spun it twice.

"I still think that this is just another way of saying that you make up your mind very quick and then make the rest of an album fit your initial impression no matter what, but fine, opinions and stuff. Sorry for lashing out at you."
No problem =)
Pos to the reviewer btw. Though I don't agree with the rating, it reads nicely.

@PappyMason: Yeah I was trying to keep it short when discussing the whole deal with GKMC, I used to over-discuss it a little too much so I was trying to trim it down.

Well I mean if he doesn't like the genre as a whole, than its pretty easy to come to an early judgment. But then there's the question of bothering to listen to it in the first place.

@ SPR: Sure. I don't doubt that you had nothing but good intentions. I mean it's not like it's a terrible review. Some of the sentences are awkward, but CometoDaddy already pointed out everything (and more) than I noticed. There is not that much to complain about in terms of your writing in general. Although the review does read a bit fanboyish at times.
The part where you talk about "The Blacker the Berry" makes it seem like you misunderstood at least an important part of the song. (which you tackled in the thread, I know, but it doesn't change the fact that it is in the review)
And like I expressed multiple times in this thread, I think that most albums, especially an 1 1/2 hour long behemoth like this, need more time than 12 hours of binge-listening to really form a solid opinion on them. But some people are definitely disagreeing with me, so it's not like my opinion represents the general consensus on this.

Not everyone consumes media the same way, or believes in judging the content they enjoy in a serious, objective way.
Nothing wrong with fanboying on a fan site.

The closing track on this thing is a 5/5 tho.

Eh I think music needs to time to sink in but people review movies all the time with only 1 viewing. I don't think you can get the most grounded opinion with 1 listen but it's possible.

You even stated my core problem with posting an review after 12 hours in your own review:
"The multiple layers to the songs on this is incredible, a ton of listening is gonna be coming if you're wanting to truly interpret this record."
@johnsnow: I'm not saying that that's not the case, I'm just saying that I think it could have been a great review if he let the album sink in for a week and then revisited it, edited it and then posted it.

Holy shit, Thundercat kills on this album!

Should someone be required to watch movies like Interstellar and the Godfather multiple times then if a true opinion about them is to be had? Both films have so much depth and can be expounded upon with multiple viewings.

I didn't like the song 'i' when he released it as a single, but this new version that's on the album flows so well with the album, and Kendrick talking to Pac at the end of Mortal Man gives me the chills/
I loved the album as a whole, the only thing I would have wanted was a Andre 3000 feature.

It certainly wouldn't hurt. I do tend to be very skeptical of movie reviews who come out right when they are released...
Edit: three times Pagebreak. Three times in a row.
Was answering that interstellar question.

On a musical note, I love Terrace Martin's sax sound - instantly recognisable.

Wait, Interstellar was awful, certainly wasn't a lot of depth to explore.
