I do believe that VH starts and ends with Roth but besides VH the edge goes to Sammy with Montrose, and checkenfoot; which I think are good ob. Montrose better than Chicken, Roth solo is ok at best

I was speaking only of Sammy Hagar as solo artist which I find to be pretty boring. Chickenfoot is quite enjoyable but stays far behind its potential given the strong lineup. Have to check out Montrose though...
On the other hand, Roth’s Skyskraper is really good and fun af. The three follow up records contain also some solid jams.
