"I'm not even gonna listen to all those, let alone make my own list of tracks by modern mainstream rappers. Very good effort though and I will peep a few *^^*"

How have you not heard these before?

@halfman

Eminem is 42,Common is 42, Outkast are both 39, Kanye is 37, Slim thug is 34, Lil Wayne is 32, Lupe

is 32, Drake is 28, ASAP is 26, Tyler is 23.

Lil wayne or younger are the only rappers you picked who possibly have more teenager fans than 30

year oldish fans in 2014.

You are talking mostly about golden age artists that still made shit in the new age. That is not the

same thing as new mainstream rap from new mainstream rappers

I never said rap completely fell off right after the golden age, theres just gradually become a

drastically higher percent of corny/boring rappers since about 1997, Even then it had a few minor

comebacks in the mainstream from time to time (Game time). Now in 2014, seems to me 9/10 mainstream

rappers are wack.

after hearing the Drake and Tyler tracks you posted:

The difference between old school and new school is old school could actually craft deep soulful

substantial messages with so much skill that it was still wildly entertaining. That Tyler song, and

Drake song especially, that you posted make me want to fall asleep. It's nothing like KRS screaming

I'll have a devil in my infrared scope...

WOY

That's for calling my father a boy and

KLAK KLAK KLAK

That's for putting scars on my mother's back

BO

That's for calling my sister a ho, and for you

BUCK BUCK BUCK

cause I don't give a motherfuck!

anyway, we should talk about this somewhere else this is hardly relating to lupe anymore.

what if i told you that hip-hop (or any music) doesn't have to be meaningful/deep/soulful to be good
