If the singles are anything to go by, it'll probably be their worst.
I'm ready to swallow my pride and admit I was wrong if it does end up being decent.

the problem is that the whole narrative behind the album...which I guess basically amounts to "it's produced by St. Vincent"!...doesn't really give me any sort of structural hope for it. like it seems like the reason the songs are bad is that they are produced by, and include lots of input otherwise by, st. vincent. and I like st. vincent actually, but yeah so it's like not giving me good vibes

Yeah, big push on the whole production side of things. Seems like everyone (including myself) can't get the idea of this being a St. Vincent produced Sleater-Kinney album out of their heads.
Might as well have just given her part of the bill like that album she did with David Bryne.

Not surprised at all, band's going the easy route and she doesn't want to be a part of that. Still sad to see her go.
At least Team Dresch is back too. And they didn't fuck it up. 😎

I miss when I could say "Gimme Love" was one of the worst SK songs. If I had only known.
9 of these 10 tracks are jams though, should have a higher average.
I'm not helping with my 3.5 right now, but y'know: cowardice.

still can't get over how good this was for a comeback album just for them to completely ruin their legacy afterward
