I dont think it grows old at all. I listen to it like three times every day.

It's really catchy, but it grows old fast.
this could describe CoB as a whole.

I really don't see that. I listen to them very often and they really don't grow old for me.

this could describe CoB as a whole.
Not Hatebreeder or Something Wild, but their other albums are definitely more based around catchy melodies and grow old fast.

well yeah, Hatebreeder as the exception.

I still think that AYDY is their best. I'm sure you guys will think I'm crazy for that.
|
| |
Something Wild is imo their gem, or at least their most underrated. The Bach and Mozart imitations turning into full blown CoB songs are spectacular. I still haven't heard all of this album, although I used to love CoB. They did grow pretty old, although it was mostly my being fed up with Alexi's voice.

This album rules too. All of their albums are great except for Blooddrunk, which is a 3 at best for me.
|
| |
AYDY has a few excellent tracks, but overall I do agree that it borders on catchy rather than just plain bad*** like their older stuff. Blooddrunk suck(s)(ed).

Follow the Reaper isn't far behind AYDY. After that they're all pretty much tied. Except Blooddrunk of course.

AYDY is their worst besides blooddrunk

i just got this album today along with Venom's "Welcome to Hell". what amazing songs this album has!, like a lot of their others. i love Children of Bodom. i remember when i thought they sucked. WTF was i thinking?
|
| |
When I was first getting into metal I hated Bodom as well, other than the extremely catchy Are You Dead Yet?

Hell no, Hatebreeder or Follow the Reaper
|
| |
possibly Follow the Reaper, but I feel this has the best combination of their older classical-ish style, with their more recent heavier style
