You're in for a sweet ride. I'm at Midnight Tides (I'm a slow reader as well, but it's still easy to keep up even with the huge scope of this series). First one is easily the weakest so you'll probably pick up the pace!

it loses focus once the third major set of characters come in in the sixth book i believe. its scale actually becomes a pretty big hindrance but it's still great

no all the lyrics are very vague, there's a reference to Pale from book 1 but and the last track references y'ghaten but that's about the extent of anything even close to being specific

I think the reason I like this more than summoning is because these guys are just straight up better musicians. that solo section on Voice is awesome.
