2 songs in and this is really disappointing me
I really don't like this new sound

I haven't listened to this band in years, but I saw the cover art for this today at work, and it sure is pretty.

I'm going to give this another spin or two before I review it but I'm pretty sure I don't like this at all.

Like this. Nice change of pace. This album kind of reminds me of what Hit the Lights did on Invicta

I'm disappointed that you don't like this project =( I guess it's pop punk all the way for you?

Goddamn this is tasty

The world is like a fish, swimming from the angsty heroin-soaked gooblies of soft-spoken wilderness on a twilight taco. Yellowcard's Lift a Sail is like Romney's dildo - strong, yet soft. Weak...yet somehow Turkish.

The back half of the album is the better half but okay!

AGordon you should stick around here, those were some nicely articulated thoughts

I really wanted to like it. I'm fine with them moving away from punk-pop -- if anything I don't think they moved far enough away from it.

Fair enough - what do you think of the title track?

I really enjoy every song on this, but I generally like music like this without question as long as there are hooks to latch on to. Every song has em (some more than others for sure)
A lot of it reminds me of bands like Conditions and Anberlin (which makes sense since Anberlin's drummer plays on this).
Also, that's Matty Mullins in The Deepest Well, right?

I'm surprised this is the only review for this album.

it's so good it doesn't need another one XD
I'd do one but it wouldn't live up to this or really give any worthwhile thoughts beyond "hey this is different and good" I don't have the insight on this band that SS does

really enjoyed this the first time through even as a longtime yellowcard fan. i don't think being drunk had anything to do with it, but i'm listening to it again right now and i still really like it. also, i read or saw an interview where ryan said sean (the violinist) was actually all over the record. i think he might have been doing some of the electronics too or maybe he's using an electric violin and messing with it

As a long time Yellowcard fan, I found this rather disappointing. I gave it a 2 because I liked a majority
of the band's previous work.

One of the best tracks. This is growing on me just a smidge, it's hovering between a 2.5 and 3. There's just so much forgettable material here though. But the title cut is good, and Transmission Home and My Mountain are both very good.
