@Nocte and @DDD I hear ya (: I've got a Drudkh one on the way later today or tomorrow, if there isn't a decent Slugdge review in the couple days after that I'll consider jumping on it.

Drudkh you say? Now where did you source that haha? I’m looking forward to your opinion on it, see if it matches my own : ]

It's a secret ;)
If your opinion of it is pretty positive you'll be pleasantly disappointed with my 1/5 review I'm cooking up, should be scathing.

Sounds fantastically optimistic

That would be good. I thought it might be why they don't play live but apparently it's a nervousness thing (as the interview I posted revealed), hoping one day they can overcome this. I'm surprised Willowtip were willing to sign them without a live presence honestly, great that they did though.
New album is a hard 4/5 so far (only played it twice).

Yeah I read that to, let's see their next steps :P as to similar bands, i see there's finally one there lol Lord Mantis. Do you guys know how to set contribute to that (if possible)?

Anyone can do it, just go the side bar and click "edit band information" and you can suggest similar bands

I'm not qualified but it might help create more traffic during their 'new album phase' if we were to add a couple of more well-known bands who're stylistically similar. Capitalise on the momentum. Any ideas?

ooooh OK got it! (: It's easy then ahah. Well from what i've been reading and looking at some reviews there's some vibes and comparisons with Gojira, Mastodon, Napalm Death or Carcass. Don´t know nothing about Lord Mantis, but will check...by the ratings look promising

also heard of Ackercocke and Black Dalia

I think anything like that would be misleading, probably needs to be some sort of blackened-death.

yeah i see what you mean. probably the Ackercocke part - a UK dm band. These are de top rated similar artists from Encyclopedia Mettalum
Anaal Nathrakh - United Kingdom - Industrial Black Metal/Grindcore
Akercocke - United Kingdom - Progressive Black/Death Metal
Coffinworm - United States - Blackened Sludge/Doom Metal
Although i get so many Gojira vibes in the "esoteric" dm characteristics, like the oooooommmm thing

Early Mastodon isn't worlds away but...the rest are only tangentially related imo. I get pretty strong Enslaved vibes from them at times, particularly because of the clean vocalist. It's kinda difficult to think of similar bands for these guys for me, not sure why.

Gojira's not a bad shout either.

Album Rating: 4.5
yeah because they're a bit all-round i guess...Ackercocke they even mention them because its the music scene where they come from i think.
Edit: I also get that Enslaved proggy and vocals kind of thing

Two of us must've submitted similar artists simultaneously because there was like 8 for a moment there. Still broke the rules though, there's 6 now and 5 is supposed to be the max haha. Never seen that occur before.
Edit: actually at risk of it causing the site to bug out I got rid of one, she's a delicate place
