Nah i mean consistent. They don't have an album below 3 besides the s/t and possibly their debut. obviously, a lot of their albums are pretty inconsistent, but their career as a whole isnt

Of course not. As much as I am not a giant fan of Inside Out, the same could be said for Fates Warning. I clearly don't hate the Ryche either, considering how frequently I listen to the first three Ryche albums.

Don't listen to any DT these days. Making up for the excess amount of time I spent obsessing over them when I was like 14

Understandable, considering not everyone can want to listen to a band after 20+ listens. Do you still listen to Fates Warning and early Ryche pretty often?

Nope. As a matter of fact, I've only listened to the pair of them once

Would that be Perfect Symmetry and Operation Mindcrime I?

My dad played Fates Warning and I dont remember. I also dont remember OPI, but i remember thinking it was alright. It's on my list of things to inevitably get to, but I'm waiting for a prog metal spree

Queensryche and Fates Warning are better than DT. In their prime anyway

It is a very interesting genre for sure. Mindcrime I has such an ingenious story and does not at fit many of typical prog stereotypes.

Queensryche is well behind FW and DT

Disappear sounds like Space Dye Vest but with some Radiohead. I don't kbow if it's already a ripoff of SDV but it's interesting

The themes of loss are the same and they both use A minor scales. Pretty similar for sure

I always thought misunderstood was top 5 DT

This sounds like it's the most experimental record of theirs

Well The Astonishing was kind of experimental as well but we all know how it turned out... This on the other hand is a full success, among the best they have to offer. Hope you enjoy it.

@kalk: It's one of them, yeah. Mostly because of how sprawling and heavily orchestrated it is, especially on the epic in the second disc. But I'd say Awake comes pretty close too, as far as being dark and experimental is concerned (particularly on Space Dye Vest and Voices)
