first time with Talk Talk and i gotta say, this is lovely

the music feels so restrained, in the best possible way. it's very well paced and all the playing is super tasteful

I came at this album via the back door. After seeing all of the stunning critical reviews for Spirit, I started there, and then went on to LS. I then came to Colour of Spring, and I thought at first eh, too poppy.

But further spins began to reveal how sublime this one is as well. Knowing SoE so well, it's amazing to listen to this album and hear all of the hints of what's to come all the while being more accessible. Any of these three TT albums stand in their own right as masterpieces, but once you know them all, you begin to see how they interrelate, and then the experience transcends!

This, just like SoE and LS, is an outstanding musical achievement and worthy of a "5", easy.

Happiness is Easy, April 5th, Living in Another World, and Time It’s Time are transcendent. If I ever got a music tattoo it’d be some kind of artwork related to Talk Talk. This up to Mark Hollis’s solo album are some of the best music I’ve heard.

Sure thing! Mark Hollis the album has grown on me to the point where I love it almost as much as SoE and LS.

the children on the opening track sound like they were held at gunpoint at the studio

So ok, yeah, for some reason I can't stop listening to this one. Everyone loves the bass on Living in Another World, but has anyone checked out the bass line under the choir chorus sections of Time it's Time? Reeeeally nice bass line...

Solid bass work throughout this album.

I was listening to Talk Talk with my dad a few days ago, and I remember thinking how great the bass was in Time is Time.

prob cuz in the real world those were the songs that they were known for, and on those two albums its not an unfair assessment

this one reminds me a lot more of 70s art rock

Little did any listeners know at the time that April 5th and Chameleon Day would signal their evolution… both stunning tracks.
