Stagnant is just so good.

a lot of this album does not make sense. like, going from an epic prog-metal insanity show to a heartfelt acoustic ballad to a symphonic, classical-esque guitar solo and passages of ambience just shouldn't work... at all..
but it fucking does, so well.

"Earth Day" is a pretty good track. "Olives" too.

whole album rules so hard m/
my favourite is either Earth Day or the Fluke. more heavy songs like those and this could be a 5/5. also i'm not a huge fan of stagnant

The Fluke is generally the most liked song here besides Earth Day I thought.
Not that it matters, it is damn good.

yeah, you've definitely got a point there. he shows that off a lot on Accelerated Evolution, too. does anyone else think this album has a very "theatrical" feel to it? It almost feels like a musical a lot of the time. I listened to this on headphones once when I was stoned and it was like i was watching a broadway musical. the heavy, off-timing parts felt like it was breaking down and starting up again, i could hear all these things I didn't hear before.. simply amazing, all the layers here. especially at the beginning of deep peace.
and yeah i'd put Olives somewhere in the middle too, the song very ethereal and the way all the distortion and sound just sinks in is really incredible. damn this album rules

see, i loved deconstruction. i thought it was a very cohesive and well thought out symphonic rock (or metal) opera. i can see the silliness getting to people, though

Deconstruction was just too much for me. Planet of the Apes rules though. Need to hear Ghost.

Ocean Machine recently "clicked", and I've been listening to it practically nonstop... If I love that, will I love this?
I still think "Hide Nowhere" is Dev's best ever. The "I've got a big penis and balls" part had me in tears when I finally heard it.

This is better than Ocean Machine, imo
