When I first heard the album I wasn't thrilled, but I put it on my mp3 player and layed down and it grew on me.

Sword of Damocles, Dragonaut and Halls of Valhalla are pretty awesome. The rest is ok at best, t/t and March of the Damned are terrible

"t/t and March of the Damned are terrible"

As the singles they really blunted my enthusiasm for this. "Battle Cry" is great, though. That and Valhalla are my favorites here.

Yeah, unfortunately (though not unexpectedly) this turned out to be completely forgettable.

At least it's not an embarrassment. No real effect on their legacy except to fuel one more tour so I finally got to see them live. And goddamn was it a good show...the time Halford took off to rest his voice really made a difference.

For sure. Their performance when I saw them in the fall was miles ahead of their performance on the Epitaph tour. Was not expecting Rob to belt those notes out like he did!

It's good to hear that. I'm considering seeing them next summer.

As much as a joke as Nostradamus was, His voice was on fire considering his age. I can't work out why he sounds so average here.

Because the production is terrible and hangs everybody out to dry. He sounded better live than he does on the album. Actually, he sounds pretty bored during a lot of it.

Most of this is badly produced, average sounding heavy metal...the tracks they released before the album came out were so bad I didn't bother listening to the whole album until now...Halls of Valhalla and Sword of Damocles are awesome though. At least it's listenable, and it's probably as good as they could've done for how old they are.

Halls, Sword, and Secrets are good tunes. Can't save it though.

It's Priest... Save for their first four (and even then), they're the ones who invented cheesy metal lol
