I can't comprehend the purpose of it.

if you think most of your ratings are wrong because your tastes change or you just realise that giving arbitrary numerical values corresponding to the level of enjoyment you got from experiencing art is pointless

Apparently Max and Greg have already started planning album #2. A bit of a concern, but at least this band is actually different to Max's other two. Helped by the fact that Max is partnered with a different guitarist(s). While Soulfly and CavCon both have Marc Rizzo which makes the sound a bit similar, KBK has Greg and Juan Montoya doing lead guitars so the approach changes a lot. Not to mention the input from Troy and Greg (and potentially Koller too) means it's a completely different dynamic so Max won't get entirely burned out by it. After this Max does need a break from writing material for a bit though. He's gone a bit overboard lately (ngl Archangel is shaping up to be decent but it's also his shortest album)

Think it's a shame Elitch is no longer a part of the band whenever they do play as he was pretty damn good on this (I guess when you have bills to pay you can't rely on a side project to bring in the dough, and his session work was a top priority), but I hope they can get more shows (they're always looking for time to do it apparently) and maybe squeeze out another album. Ben Koller's contribution to the songwriting process will be really interesting as it throws another mathy hardcore curveball into the potential sound they could achieve. I think Max really needed this band too as it gave him a completely different band environment to work in, where his guitar playing was actually necessary and he wasn't just the frontman relying on the same lineup for two different bands (Rizzo on leads, at the time Tony Campos on bass, another Cavalera on drums). It re-energized him somewhat from the lacklustre Savages/Pandemonium stuff a bit imo and Archangel was better for it.
