Am I in the minority in thinking this is the best Gorillaz record?

You might be. But their first three are of such quality they're all interchangeable to me.

The accepted wisdom seems to be that Demon Days is their best, but this has its fair share of defenders.

Latin Simone and Starshine are so atmospheric, as is this whole album, nothing quite like it. That what I like about this album and Demon Days, they sound almost otherworldly.

I think Demon Days and Plastic Beach might be slightly better, more mature and compelling sounding. This is like a rewarding collection of random, weird and fun trip hop songs.

While I agree that those two records feel more mature and compelling than this one, I find the variety on this record more appealing than the sounds explored on DD and PB. If I were to rank them it would go S/T>PB>DD for me, although I adore all 3

I get that, this has a little more weird pointless stuff tho imo
Anyone else prefer the Soulchild Remix of 19-2000? Makes it more fun

i much prefer the soulchild remix. Hear that it hasn't aged well brought up as an argument a lot, tho, which baffles me. Shit's bangin.

Never got the hype of DD, other than the singles I thought it sucked. Never turned my dad on once.

not that there's a jam in there as fucking good as slow country or tomorrow comes today, but what the fuck ever

DD is full of excellent tracks, there's just a little filler in the middle

What rabidfish said. A vibrant, catchy, goofy depiction of a post-apocalyptic world with a perfect flow throughout.
