Album Rating: 4.5
Well yea, but that doesn't make the album as a whole radio rock. I'm surprised that song even got
pretty big because it's dark as fuck.

You have no faith in popular music, do you Mongi?

Where did I say that in this thread exactly? I just said that I don't think White Pony is radio rock.
|
| |
Alt Metal =/= Radio Rock

whats radio rock ? i mean so many different radio stations, you mean music that is inoffensive and easily digested and fits on generic rock stations ?
|
| |
prob but that's not white pony at all

Album Rating: 4.5
Well when I think of radio rock I think of bands that are easily accessible like Daughtry and 3 Doors
Down. I never really thought of Deftones as universally accessible.

If you think a song can't be popular just because it's dark, you don't have very much faith in popular music.

Album Rating: 2.5
who said that ?
|
| |
Mongi said he was surprised that a song got popular because it was dark. It's not really that abnormal.

Album Rating: 4.5
I don't understand why you think this because that's really not what I think. And I said I was "surprised" it got as big as it did. Not "it couldn't be big." I don't understand why this automatically means that I have no faith in popular music.

I guess it would be nice... If I could touch your body.
|
| |
next thing you guys are going to tell me...
"i've never heard Street Spirit, The Bends, Planet Telex, High and Dry..and Fake Plastic Trees on the radio"
The Bends is a radio/mtv friendly Radiohead album...
This does not somehow "diminish" the entire catalog of the band. Its just a great mainstream album, like White Pony.
|
| |
I'm not accusing you. I posed this to you in question form. You just seem to distrust popular things. That's all I was saying. Not even an insult.

Album Rating: 2.5
i can understand why people mistrust popular things bcos they often turn out to be crap, and im not just talking music, popular often equates to lowest common denominator
|
| |
This review sucks lol... "The instruments are better and the vocals are better" sums up this review. Need to be more specific.
|
| |
Yeah, but not always. I'm just saying popularity should have nothing to do with whether you like or dislike something.

Album Rating: 4.5
When you say popular music, what do you mean exactly? Stuff in the Billboard Hot 100?
|
| |
"i can understand why people mistrust popular things bcos they often turn out to be crap, and im not just talking music, popular often equates to lowest common denominator "
my point was just that this is not a 4.5 in relation to some of the g.o.a.t radio albums...
and if we are going on just a general rating scale of music...its even lower.
|
| |
I was referring to whatever the hell you were referring to, Mongi. "Radio Rock" and the like.
