I'd recommend his newest much more, he's really improved his songwriting and it shows on that album.
|
| |
There were a couple of songs in the lead up to this album that I never really felt, so I never gave this a proper listen back then. Need to give it a shot.
He's penned some real classics for other artists.

Song writing is twice as good on this though
The production has improved a lot on the new one, it gives off the feel of an important work...but the songs for me are lacking.
|
| |
nah new album is easily his worst sorry ferro
|
| |
and the production sounds pretty much the same as on this sorry doof

The only difference in approach I could really take from the new one were some production details, a greater flow and an overall smoother feel to the mix with the vocals and drums not popping out quite as much...but no huge changes I guess
|
| |
mix is borderline too smooth on both this and the new one but its worse on the new album just because there arent as many stand out tracks

The most interesting thing on the new one is he's actually straight up trying to record a couple of Michael Jackson ballads now, skirting close to parody, it's uncanny
|
| |
you're not good enough is the best song ever
|
| |
the new album had like the least replay value of all time

This has a couple good jams but overall it never made a huge impression on me. Never gave the new one a try.
|
| |
i find all his material after Coastal Grooves is super non immediately gratifying. I thought this was average as fuck on first listen.

To be fair I haven't heard this in years and my taste has expanded a lot since then so maybe I'd enjoy it more now.
