Excellent review, went home and listened to this album twice after reading it, and I sure wasn't disappointed. Really a great record.

That's pretty much what I'm missing here. Listened to it three times, and haven't gotten a lot from the lyrics. I think it's difficult to understand such vocals in general, and these vocals are rather good - but still, it needs further listenings before I'll make up my mind about that (still, will probably end on at least a 4, depending on the lyrics).

I find the lyrics beautiful and even moreso considering their sound.
sidenote: when I first saw Ultima, Meteor and Diamond Dust on the tracklist, I couldn't help but think Final Fantasy. apparently, that was the intention.

The Final Fantasy games are so different from each other that I'm pretty sure you'd like at least one of them (assuming you play role-playing games).
regardless, it was still pretty interesting of them to use FF references as song titles
