definitely see where you're coming from fish and gyro; I think this is much more varied -not sonically but aesthetically and in the mood it creates, emotions evoked- in a sense.
i feel like it's far more cohesive than clams, and i really ~appreciate~ BSBD in terms of their skill and stuff, but they're nowhere nowhere near as fun to listen to as this, for me

| |
i mean it's probably a ridiculous comparison because they are obviously worlds apart, but i'm just thinking of instrumental hip hop that i like and that one came to mind. you all should check that album out, it's so good.
|
| |
fish you're so unpredictable, i never know when you're going to be on my side lol
yea feeling's mutual
|
| |
(good discussion though // long live friendzone thread ~peace~happiness~)
|
| |
why is it even necessary to compare them to clams anymore anyway? they really don't sound similar at all these days. with collection 1 it made more sense but the stuff FZ has been doing recently really doesn't sound anything like that. nothing on here sounds much like "chuch" for example.

yah i definitely see that, but not the thing about bsbd! i guess most of the stuff on late night cinema wouldn't be categorized as 'fun' (lol), but it's definitely epic and catchy

yea feeling's mutual
ha! =]
|
| |
I'll be honest though, most of the time I have no idea whether or not I'm gonna like an album when I go into it. My own taste frustrates me
|
| |
i know how you feel. my problem is that my tastes are always changing (i guess everyone can relate to this really), like drastically changing. i can't believe i love drake in 2013 - and not just drake from 2013, but all of drake's stuff. i'm a different person now, can't even recognize myself!
|
| |
i hope that doesn't stop as i get older
|
| |
i was actually wondering if in my 30s i'll look back and say 'can't believe i liked that trite shit'. gah, i don't want to be that person
|
| |
idk, I'm the opposite. my 14 year old self would disown my current music taste
|
| |
yah i wasn't really into hip hop when i was in high school. too cool for that shit, you know?
but hey, i liked circle takes the square!
|
| |
well yeah mine too but becoming more open-minded since 14 is probably pretty standard
|
| |
back to friendzone, there are a few tracks here that kinda kill the momentum for me -- like I could easily see it being a 4.5 [which I really don't give out often at all] if it wasn't for LUV U MORE THAN ANYTHING, really don't like most of AMORE as well
|
| |
and I'm in a weird stage of checking out a lot of diverse shit at the moment; after my taste being really stagnant for the past 1.5 years or so--basically only listening to old favorites and new music that fit neatly into genres I already adored
|
| |
i love "luv you more than anything"
tracks 5-7 are kind of a low point for me, and everything else is golden
|
| |
2011 was the year I got into electronic music
2012 was the year I got into hip hop
this year's been a bit dry in that respect. but there've been quite a few just generally great albums
|
| |
I'm not sure if I'm really into this album
|
| |
also: sniper we have very similar comments counts : O
