The shite hawk is nocturnal
He thrives in the night
Hiding in the bushes as he hawks her shite
never change, Aidan

Compersion Pt. 1 is my SOTY so far.
My Pollyanna loves poetry, she thinks my heaven is hell
|
| |
The Turning of Our Bones for me, really think there's no way this strap isn't my AOTY
although... the wrens should have an album coming out
|
| |
New album is an absolute blinder.
|
| |
it's my favourite moffat honestly
fuck off back to foxland
|
| |

chance would be a fine thing phero

anat mate we aren't talking until the review is out
|
| |
anyone penning one out already?

I'm agreeing with Phero - the new one is best Moffat
Other albums of his have individual songs maybe better than anything on it but in terms of complete package the new one hits the spot
|
| |
*imitates shouting from the audience* maybe you should do it
*pretends agitation* okay fine i'll do it
|
| |
definitely, Philophobia is an album-only experience (sure it has its highlights) but for singles and separate song jams i'll go for the rest of their discog

I put up a mini-review/soundoff on AOTY but didn't want to quote any lyrics or go into depth as I know anatelier's doing a 'proper one'

anat is penning one as we speak (well he might be working who knows)
but his pen is inked and well equipped.
philophobia has new birds, soaps and i would've liked me alot last night which i genuinely dont think will ever be beat, but the new one is a lil step above everything else
|
| |
well i already wrote the sentence "Aidan is too kosher to co-share a vocal spot" so i might as well start reviewing Monday at the Hug

'i would've liked me alot last night' is my favourite from this one
'Hug and Pint' is probably the second best Strap but it also sounds like the start of 'the second age of Moffat' as a vocalist, similar to his approach to the solo stuff...and I think he's written a lot more memorable songs/stories solo than on that album
|
| |
yes doof! nothing will ever top new birds which is one of my all time favourite songs but i would've liked me alot is one of their most underrated cuts - their live version is immense and it makes me sad that they never play it.

Tbh 'Hug and Pint', 'Red Thread' and 'Elephant Shoe' are all quite a drop from 'Phil' or the new one (or indeed 'The Most Important Place' and 'Everythings Getting Older')

'their live version is immense and it makes me sad that they never play it' - might hunt that down if there's a vid online
|
