riffs aren't bland if they work for the mood of the album and go well with the drums

without brenden they'd be a lot worse off

Nah I love Greg's contribution to the band. His style is absolutely crushing

Totally agree with Shallows outro. This track reminds me a lot of a Malice style.

"I remember I saw misery signals open for after the burial and veil of maya."

This is the most depressing sentence I've ever read

Did anyone else do a double take at the riff midway through "Shadows and Depths?" Sounds so un-Mis Sigs. This song's shifts are kind of patchwork. It's a shame because the first verse melody that comes in after the quiet twinkly guitar background is amazing, then they just totally leave it behind for that bizarre direction change.

Agreed. VoM can be fun but it's fucking misery signals that should close the show.

The riff you're talking about in shadows and depth has got a serious mastodon vibe. It was a part Greg

wrote and its fucking massive. No it doesn't sound like their older stuff but thats to be expected

because he's not stu ross and they are naturally going to have different influences.

Greg writes monstrous riffs, and I give him credit for that in my review. it should be done soon.
